We welcome walk-ins! However, as a working family farm, we may be out in the fields or making hay deliveries, so it’s best to call ahead to ensure one of us will be at the barn when you arrive. We offer high-quality beef options, including grass-fed and grass-finished beef as well as pasture-raised beef that is supplemented with locally raised grain. Whether you're interested in purchasing a quarter cow, a half cow, a whole cow, or sampler box, or individual cuts of beef, you can choose what works best for you!

About Us
A Family Tradition Since 1926
Terrace Ridge Farm, located between Vass and Carthage, NC, was founded in 1926 by Archie B. and Katie Johnson Parker (pictured here with two of their three sons). Over the years, Terrace Ridge Farm has produced a variety of products, including dewberries, vegetables, and hay, but today is particularly known for our pasture-raised beef and our grass fed beef. We offer many options for purchasing local beef, including quarter cow and half cow orders.

Terrace Ridge Farm is a family-owned operation run by Michael, Carol, Garin, Matthew, and Hannah Parker. We run two herds of cattle, and we specialize in producing high-quality, pasture-raised and grain-supplemented beef as well as high-quality grass-finished beef without the grain supplement, offering options for quarter cows, half cows, and whole cows, as well as sampler boxes and individual cuts. Additionally, we provide Coastal bermuda hay for horses, cows, goats, and more.
Delivery or Pick-up
Our horse hay can be picked up in the field during the summer or at the barn all year long until we run out. Delivery is also available for an additional cost.
We offer our pasture-raised and grass-finished beef by the pound, as well as by the quarter cow, half cow, or whole cow. When we say "cow," that's short for "finished steer or heifer." Orders for our beef can be picked up at Terrace Ridge Farm.

Farm to Freezer Beef
Terrace Ridge Farm beef is pasture-raised with no added hormones. Our cows are never given antibiotics or animal byproducts, ensuring the highest quality. We cultivate our beef for excellent marbling, flavor, and tenderness, whether you choose a half cow or an individual steak. Try our beef, and you'll be amazed at the taste and quality. Store-bought beef simply cannot compete. We run two herds: one herd that is pasture-raised and grain supplemented, and one herd that is grass-finished without the grain supplement.

Farm to Freezer Beef
In addition to offering top-quality beef from our grass-fed herd as well as our pasture-raised and grain-supplemented herd of cattle, Terrace Ridge Farm specializes in producing high-quality square bales of horse hay. We also frequently have hay for cows or decorative purposes available for a reduced price. You can pick up your hay directly from the field or at the barn, or you can opt for delivery and have it stacked in your barn!
